Receipts Requested by E-mail

This is a relatively easy change to make. Just like everything when it comes to reducing waste, the receipts add up. If we can reduce the number of printed receipts we receive that is a good thing.

Step 1: At each store where you shop, ask whether the receipt can be e-mailed rather than printed. Some customer service providers are surprised by the question but come to find that they can e-mail receipts.

Step 2: Give your e-mail address to the customer service provider. The first time you receive a receipt by e-mail it takes longer, because they need to input your e-mail address. Most places will have your e-mail on file after the first request.
